Rostyle Wheels

Post by autolycus »

Do people fit MG Midget 13" Rostyle wheels to their Minors?

I believe they're the correct stud size and pcd, and they're 4.5J profile, which mean they'll take wider tyres.

The reason I'm asking is that I've just replaced a set of early Rostyles on the MIdget with correct wheels for its 1969 year, and I'm wondering whether to advertise them as suitable for Minors.

As for why anyone would want to fit the wrong wheels to a Minor - well, that's another question, which I won't attempt to answer - certainly not while I'm trying to sell these wheels.

Thanks for the reply.

Mine are the other, earlier style, and I've now listed them on ebay:

I rather think that one of our younger, somewhat tiggerish, contributors has already tried to bid on them, but got bounced for having too many unpaid item strikes against him.

I can't easily offer this on the ebay ad, but if anyone from here wins the auction, I will offer them the chance of buying some 155/80R13 tyres, too.
