Harness Question

Hey everyone,

I'm finishing off a friends 1957 Tourer (his bucket list) by installing a new harness and I stumbled into my first problem. The turn signal stalk wires are not the same as the harness wires. I hope someone can help because wiring is my biggest fear. Here's the breakdown.
Turn signal wires are as follows:
light green
black
light green with brown stripe
brown with black stripe
green with white stripe
green with red stripe

Harness wires in the loom:
light green
light green with red
brown with black
black
green with white (blue green)
green wit red (blue green)

It just doesn't correlate together by color code, so what should it be?

Where did the loom come from ? I think you will just need to ring them out!

They look to be the same colours but with different shades. Maybe the original wiring has changed colour slightly? Connect them up and to what looks like the most obvious and see if everything functions correctly. Indicators (turn signals) are fused so worse case will be a blown fuse....

Print off a copy of Barry's excellent diagram from the top thread of this link. I think the only 'spare' wire you have there is the light green with red ?

bmcecosse, I'm not sure where the loom came from as it was recently bought from a supplier back east here in the states called "MiniCity" which sells Morris parts as well as Mini bits. Everything looked great until I stumbled into this glitch.

I will try the hunt and peck method until I get the right one...worst case as PSl184 said, I'll just blow a fuse!
