Happy birthday

. If you're anything like I was, you were looking forward to this one more than you are to your eighteenth? I no longer look forward to things, as time now seems to pass fast enough without encouragement. Enjoy being young and make the most of it. Life is still good (I don’t think I’ve grown up fully and I doubt I ever will

) but I’d nevertheless like to relive my 20s and 30s (Maybe I’d skip a few bits here and there). It doesn’t get better or worse, just shorter

.
Your own garage at 17 is good going

, even if the car is in bits!! I’ve had the same car (MG Midget) since the age of 19 (I have added to it). When I bought it, the car was not that old but in those days MG had stopped building sports cars, so it became a “Classic” of sorts sooner than would normally have been the case. I don’t regret it and classic cars are a way of life. I like to be in control of the maintenance of my cars and my Morris and MGs allow me to be in control of most things. At one time I used to just like cars of all ages, whereas now most stuff post 1980 is of little interest to me and very little of what is on offer new today interests me. Even the latest Morgan models don’t appeal in the way that earlier ones do (I’d really like a pre war Series 1 4/4).
Stick with your Minor

!!
