Morris Minor's on Google Street View

Post by stephenpolhill »

Hi there. Just had a look on Google Street View up my street and found my car clear as day at the end of the drive (with L plates on  ). I will post up a picture when I can but I just wondered if anyone else had found theirs, another moggy or classic cars on there?
:) Steve

Just J-j-j-jiggle it a bit.

Here are the pictures. Apart from the moulded pictures chopping off my rear light :o and me having to black out the number plate to load it on here, its pretty clear :P

If you find it on the Street View, press 'Print Screen' on your keyboard, then open up Microsoft paint and paste it there. Then save and upload and it should be work.
It is interesting to know I'm not the only one  . I have found a person locally who has two parked outside his house on street view. I wonder if anyone's car has been snapped twice in different places

Not on streetview, but on the satellite pics. One of ours was on the drive and the office carpark at the same time!

Do be careful with posting streeview pictures on here. Unless you do what Stephen has done, and remove any clues, you could make it very easy for someone looking to 'acquire' a moggy cheaply

My Spitfire's on it, in the drive. Makes a difference seeing it with the roof down and not the bonnet up... :-?

The nice green 2 door that lives up the road is on the maps but I'm not sure about puting up pictures of it as it's not mine. Can't see my 2 door anywhere, probably in the garage....[frame]Image[/frame]

Here's my driveway with my Austin 1300 in full view. My Traveller project is in the garage in front of the Austin, and now you can see why I can't take on any more! :D[frame]Image[/frame]

Exactly. There are probably hundreds of people who walk past your car every day, and yet that doesn't worry you. Or perhaps it does...

I guess I'm someone who values his privacy.

As an aside the latest google street view includes the village I live in, but they missed the close where I live!! :D.

Is it possible to have the picture of one's house removed? I also agree that there is an issue of privacy involved.

I believe it is.
However your house will still be in plain view to anyone who walks by.

I made it onto streetmap twice, once by by own design as I spotted the car and positioned myself so I was guaranteed to be on it [frame]Image[/frame][frame]Image[/frame]
