Mirrors for Morris Minor van
I'm still trying to get my van into safe condition. I'm not happy yet with the rearward vision despite fitting new wing mirrors which are of a type sympathetic to the vehicle. Are the GPO van type mirrors available for sale anywhere, or does anyone have any different suggestions please? Clip on mirrors are not adequate. Thanks for your help. PS Am adding a photo, but the last one I did was a bit big - how do I smallen my pictures please?[frame]

Re: Mirrors for Morris Minor van
Yes when I had my van I remember it was truly frightening driving round London especially if it was dark and raining, the rearward vision was terrible. I ended up fitting some proprietory Landrover accessory mirrors which bolted through the doors with a backing plate inside. Not elegant but they did the job. The mirror heads were about 7" x 5".
As for getting the pics smaller try using Microsoft Office picture manager, click on edit then resize. Or use a free program from the net like Irfanview which is pretty good.

You seem to have standard length stems on your mirrors, vans benefit from longer ones.
A Fresnel lens on the rear windows is a great help too.

Re: Mirrors for Morris Minor van
fitting another suction type interior mirror on the passenger side will help the blind spot on the rear door glass
gpo arms and mirrors are very good but difficult to find
can use transit arms and mirrors not elegant but do the job

Are these the mirror heads?

On my mirrors I have stick on blind spot mirrors like these,
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWAX:IT
they rotate to adjust the angle of view and certainly help see things creeping up from behind.

Re: Mirrors for Morris Minor van
Thanks everybody for taking so much trouble and giving me all these good ideas. Have got some big plastic mirrors off the ebay site and will bid on the long mirror stems later. Also looking at the Fresnel lens. I really appreciate everyone's help.[frame]

Re: Mirrors for Morris Minor van
Thanks to MarkyB for suggesting the Fresnel lens. Have fitted one to the n/s rear window and it's amazing what you can see compared with before. Can recommend fitting one of these to your van, because they don't look too noticeable and they're not permanent if you choose to remove them.
