Hi Everyone,
I have just joined, I am now the proud owner of a 69 Minor, still positve earth and Snowberry white, cant think why I wasted over 30 years driving before I had one of these ! My question regards replacement HT leads, should I get "standard" items from a motor factor or through a specialist supplier, can anyone recommend a brand/type ?

Welcome to the Club and to this Board. As far as HT leads go, if you have a motor factor near get them from there. Otherwise any morris supplier. Suppliers sell them in a sets, motor factors tend to sell them individually.
Welcome to the forum! Just get standard HT leads from any Auto place. Same set as Classic Mini - although if you have the old side entry dizzy cap - you may need to cut off the connectors. Note how the old leads come off so you don't mix up the order when fitting the new ones!
Lovely looking car! You can use leads from an auto factor, but for most parts, cheaper and quicker to buy from a Minor parts specialist (see adverts in club magazine). I use Bull Motif and ESM, both good service.
The leads, being on a G reg late Minor will be for top entry distributor cap.
I would recommend copper core leads, not carbon core, and screw on plug caps. Measure the total length of HT lead and add a bit on then buy a single piece which you can cut to whatever length you want and you will have some left over for future use.
hello there, yep Ht leads from either sources are grand. If your replacing them, consider giving the car a good service and check spark plugs, points and condeser and rotor arm. Might just as well check the lot and see if you need anything else before ordering the leads.
Thanks everyone for the advice re the ht leads, much appreciated, I have got all the other required items to service my Minor, I have now realised two types of cap fitted for side entry and top entry, have already tried Bull Motif for most of the service parts anyway but other suppliers such as Moss or ESM look good also.
Still Moggy-less, I can't check whether you mean because of clearance problems (on an MGB, top entry cap plus straight connectors = HT leads rubbing on steering uj).
if you go to halfords make sure that the leads are the correct length.. for some reason they list all four leads being the same length which means the lead to number 1 cylinder is too tight.
