Car Transportation Company - Hertfordshire?

Post by BigDawgV8 »

Hi All,

I have a Minor that needs rescuing but I need a car transportation company based in Hertfordshire, ideally near Stansted Airport, to go and get it for me (no MOT).
About 160 mile round trip

Any recommendations for car transport companies?

Thanks

Martin

Hi Martin, Not in Stansted but Scottie at http://www.movinghotrods.co.uk/ moved my Minor from old lock-up in London to new lock-up in Essex today and did exactly what he said he would for the price he stated. He goes all round the country and seems to fit each drop-off to be near the next pick-up to keep costs down.

Hi Darren,
Thanks for the heads up.

E-mail on it's way to him!

BTW - is the car back on the road yet?

See you at a show this year? (I still owe you a cuppa   )

Hi Martin, PM'd you his phone number. Not sure I'll make it for this year's National - in the Minor at least. That said I've just got the car moved to a double garage within a mile of where I live. Not only can I work inside now but I'm not overlooked by the flats where I used to live. If I can persuade the Landlord to let me reconnect the mains, I'll be able to work without the gas lamp and generator which'll be nice.

On the other hand, I don't want to rush getting things back together. I want to make everything look like it was done by the factory. Engine out has be an opportunity to re-do 20 years of ad-hoc additions in a more considered manner.

I also got an old Enfield motorbike to get me to and from the garage but that may well turn into another project now I have the space.

BTW will you be camping there this year - might make more sense since it's a bit far for a day trip.

And are you going to add a thread about this new rescued Minor?

Cheers,

Darren
