Retensioning a new head lining
Can anyone help regarding how to retension a new head lining. I have just fitted a new head lining and its in situation at the moment but I have not tensioned any of the wires yet. I have had a bit of a dry run and pulled on the wires but it seems to still leave creases in the lining. I have fitted new wire which was the same thickness of the old wire but it seems to kink easy if bent. Do I need to use a more flexible wire. And is it best to start tensioning the front wires first or the back ones, do the centre wires need to be tensioned last. I have not tied the lining onto the bars with string is this important ? Thanks any advice is appreciated

after I tensioned mine still had a few creases so used an electric kettle on an extension lead and steamed the area where the creases were and they gradually faded when it dried out /

A hairdyrer on low power will do the trick (no nearer to the lining than 12" though!) It gentally relaxes the creases.

I put a blow heater in mine, left it on while I had a cuppa and it made the whole thing a bit more stretchy. Ive used the same trick doing the hood on a convertible
