Advice on refitting spring to van door handle

Hi All,

I need to refit the spring to a van door handle.
Looking at the spring, it looks like I've got to turn the "leg" through about 180 degrees to fit it into the slot on the other side - right?
Can anyone tell me whether I need to turn the "leg" clockwise or anti-clockwise?
And any tips on the best way to do this? Which tool(s) would you use?

Realised that I needed to turn it anti-clockwise.
Bit of a struggle actually getting it fitted, but done now, so I now have a nice "springy" door handle.
