I seem to remember that the loos at the last Harewood were OK, once I had reminded someone to unlock them!

Sorry to be negative, but its just the same old stuff relocated to a new venue. How on earth is this format going to stimulate new younger membership. Time to move away from the glorified 'village fete' mentality and bring the Nationals up to date and give it the promenance it deserves.
Sorry :-?
I have to agree as well. I have experienced at local club level of some of the organisers of the national(No Names) and along with other members have expressed the need for change to attract new younger members. We was told the club has run ok for the last twenty odd years so why do we have to change it.
That is why the club will eventually fail. The don't believe in change and are prepared to carry on as is because they think it will see them to the end. Sad and Selfish.

Just to add my tuppence worth :D . I'm 21 and have been to quite a few different classic car events, VW, classic Ford, Retro Rides and they all have something in common, they are trying to appeal to a younger crowd. After all it is the youngsters that will carry on the events in the next 10-20-30 years. Not to say we should get rid of the classic 'village fete' ideas as these appeal to many people also but we do need to think about marketing our events to a youger crowd also.
Some things we could do are,
Show 'n' Shine
Live music
Tuning workshops
Track action(depending on venue)
BBQs
Fireworks

I'm sure people can thing of others

It will probably rain
Just to answer some of ratmogs points:-
Show and Shine = Concours
Live Music - Sometimes booked for Sat evening entertainment. I agree a good live band is better than a disco.
Tuning workshops - Visit the Series MM area, there is usually a car in pieces!
Track Action - We certainly had that at Sparkford
Barbecues - Plenty going on in the campsite, book yourself in with a group and do your own thing
Fireworks - Tried to get that at Blenheim but too many restrictions
