SUCCESS!! :D

I swapped the generator from the MGB over to the Minor this morning and there is no more ticking or flashing ignition light. I'm going to take her out for a long test drive later today, but at this point the problem seems to be some sort of fault within the generator. It is still under warranty so I will contact the vendor on Monday and arrange for a replacement unit. I would like to take the generator apart and have a look inside to see if anything is broken, but I fear that will void the warranty so I think the diagnosis won't get any more precise than 'Faulty Generator'.

Thanks again for all the help gents, and I think we can close the case on this one!

Well I never! Most unusual - yet it was charging - you had 13.5 volts. Could it maybe be a 24 volt generator ? Well done finding the fault - just put the 'new' replacement on the B !
