45 bhp for a 1098 and 60 bhp for a "standard" 1275

Clearly not  But to get an accurate "actual" output you would have to put it on a rolling road. When I fitted my 1275 my insurer did not increase the premium because it was considered a "standard" mod for the Minor....

HS4 carb is too small - so that won't be helping the BHP - but you need to tell them it has an uprated alloy inlet manifold and an lcb exhaust manifold (and I suppose?) system. For a young driver - they may refuse -so check before going too far!

Yes- an HS4 is the 1.5" carb. For a decent 1275 engine - you need a 1.75" carb - HS6 or HIF44.

Tom,

I would suggest that you contact Heritage Insurance. We have been with them 10+ years and they have never increased the premium for any of the mods we have - and there are quite a lot!

Their telephone number is 0845 330 0660.
