Traveller Woodwork Revamp
I'm still toying with the idea of doing this myself, however, I was just wondering if anyone had paid a pro for this service and if so, how much did it cost. All I need is old varnish stripping off and new varnish (or other preserving treatment) applying.....?

Yes - I did it! Scrape/peel off varnish - I may even have used some Nitromors on the stubborn bits. I then treated it with Cuprinol 5 star - many good soakings - and then Teak Oil.

Re: Traveller Woodwork Revamp
I'm just worried I'm gonna bu$$er it up. I can weld, paint and wield spanners - but wood is an annomally !!!!

It's not too bad a job. You can only bu$$er it up if your car is concourse. If an everyday runner or smart cond 1 car then you will be fine.
Just make sure to mask up all the painted metal bodywork around the wood to avoid scratching it. And leave the car to dry indoors for a week before stripping the varnish. I like to use scraper and also a detail sander to remove the varnish.

Cheers John - all comments IMHO
