it look like an early one.
looks like it might have had a oilbath air filter on it.
no expert on carbs, but i think its a hs1 (someone will put me right im sure if im wrong)

Nearly correct! H 1 carb. Cleaned up - they seem to sell quite well - but absolutely useless for performance!

I've seen crazy money - for what it is. Maybe £30/40 - but that's for well cleaned up and 'overhauled
' example! Dunno if there is a way to check finished auctions on ebay - that's where I have seen them. I have 4 of the bu99ers - just haven't got round to the 'cleaning and overhauling' yet!

the last burlen overhaul kit i purchased for an su carb was 25 quid without a new needle so not a great deal of "profit" at 30 quid
