Heritage Certificates

Hi folks,
Just wondering if there is someone out there that may be able to assist?

I brought my very first minor late on last year and he came with a folder full of receipts etc. After doing a few little bits to him, he is now used daily. Due to this, a gentleman came into my place of work today asking who the car belonged to. I owned up and asked if I could help him with anything.

He informed me that he had been one of the previous owners and had done all the major restoration work to the car at considerable cost. He then added that he had got a Heritage certificate for the vehicle and asked if I wanted to buy it off him as it would add an considerable amount of value to the vehicle.

I have a Heritage certificate already tracing back the vehicle details (date of manufacture, first owner etc).

So my questions are. Does the Heritage Trust issue different certificates, and if so, if the certificate this gentleman alleges to have from when he purchased all new panels etc for the restoration, would it add value to my car and to what sort of extent? Are we talking £'s, hundreds of pounds or thousands???

a heritage certificate in the normal sense is the piece of paper that has details of the cars spec,build date,reg no,etc etc when it was built,new.not sure what the chap is going on about as only he has details of what restoration was done on it,no such thing as a certificate for that

It will add zero to the value of the car,as certificates are available for most Minors for around £25.

I guess the certificate he is talking about is the same as the one you already have. Good for nostalgia I suppose, but I'd be surprised if it added any value. I'm thinking of getting mine... I'm sure the full works with flashing knobs certificate is about £60 these days.

I tried to get one for my Traveller but there are no records for Adderley Park . You can get them for any eligible car and they don't ask for proof of ownership; I got my father one for his MG Midget.

I have certificates for both my cars, quite informative but rather expensive pieces of parchment grade paper. A4 frames are cheap enough though in pound stores.

Chassis prefiix suggests it originally started life as a 2dr.

Built during Feb 1960

Re; Heritage Certificates, always quote the chassis nos stamped into the body.

Re; Ad Pk Travellers, very easy to verify them as chassis,body & engine nos - more or less, consecutive.

If I had every surviving Ad Pk Minor's chassis/body number, we would be able to put together a good database, rather than using the same old excuse of 'records destroyed by fire'. So, PLEASE send me your vehicle's details!!

What details do you need all i have is the documents from dvla there was no history with it. Dvla paperwork say date of first registration 03/03/1960 engine number 10MEUH7890 model minor body type convertable cylinder class 1098cc

Body nos located on a narrow plate at the top of the N/S engine bay bulkhead.

1098cc Engine dates to '62.

Should have a 948cc.

That's the chassis no.

You're looking for a plate on the opposite side.

I didnt notice that sorry. The boys cant find another plate on the car. Ive just been to dvla and they have said all details on log book are ok there are no other details for the car other than whats on tje log book. It was made in march 60 and engine size seems ok too so not sure. Im tracking history for the car to check awaiting preveous owners details from dvla.

Go onto the Minor Owners site, they have a section dedicated to Minor identification.

Z.27247 32xxxx bodyshell dates to 2/60
