You may very well need special nuts depending on which alloy wheels you end up with! So don't rush in to buy standard nuts - unless using standard wheels.

The standard wheel nuts are 3/8 UNF with 3/8 whit. heads. If you fit non standard wheels you may find that they need a different countersink nut. I found that 3/8 x 11/16 A/F wheel nuts from my local trailer shop were ideal for the wheels I am using.

Won't the Volvo wheels be 100mm pcd rather than the Moggys 101.6mm (4") pcd?
If so then although they look similar, the nuts won't sit square in the taper and will put horrible stresses on the studs! You may also have trouble finding a nut with the right thread/taper combination.

DO NOT use wheels that are not correct PCD - they WILL snap the studs - and send you headlong into a ditch - or perhaps a line of kids waiting for a bus! Only wheels correctly made for 4" PCD can be used on standard Minor. There are NO modern car wheels that will fit a standard Minor !

I can't imagine Volvo wheels are 4.5" PCD - are they ? The stud size will also probably not be 3/8" unf - all kind of important information when you ask a question...........
