There is a very smart green van knocking around Rugeley just lately, anyone off here?

I hate to see any of the LCVs scrapped, but we must be realistic, like any old car, they can just be too far gone.

Well here are the vans, both in poor condition non runners and badly rotten chassis and floor.






He is offering for free if anyone can take away.

The man is selling the house and moving to New Zealand so wants them off the property. Trouble is cost of towing etc all costs money and I dont have room to store them even if I got them home.

Imo these vans would cost plenty to restore nicely, and if done by a company a few thousand. Unless someone did the job themselves and wanted to know exactly what/how its been done, its probably easier to buy one already up and running.

I think I may have a set of side windows from a van where the owner wanted them welding up! The sort of thing you carefully keep knowing that no one will ever want them......

I did a series 3 Landy on a new galvanised chassis a few years ago.

The Minor is about as easy to work on as the Landy. I find the saloons easier to repair DIY than LCV's (using a car roller it's pretty easy) as I like to work on my own (billy no-mates), whereas removing a cab to get to the chassis needs more time and plenty of people.

A galv chassis for a series landy is almost mass produced compared to the Minor LCV chassis. With the Landy chassis you can expect the mounting points mostly to be where they should be... This is often the opposite with new Minor parts and panels.
