Height Issue?

Hello!

I am considering strongly to buy myself a 1962 Morris Minor (see attached picture). However i am a bit reluctant to go and take a look at this car, because i am not to sure if i will fit...

i am 200cm tall and am basically wondering if i'll fit?

Im not far off that and i have no problem. there is plenty of head room and the seats can be lifted out and put on the back set of holes, so theres good adjustment. Looks like a nice motor.

i'm near enough 6'4 and i'm in the process of buying a split. i have sat in others (but not mine yet ) and there was no problems. if you have long legs they fit under the wheel with ease. i find there is more room than a modern car, so if you can fit in them, you shouldn't have any problems. if in doubt, go try it out, and then your know for sure! most minor owners are nice, and will understand if you have to walk away. great choice by the way!

You should be fine with a two door, the four doors are a bit more difficult to get into as the doors are smaller.

I'm 6'2" and have plenty of room. It was designed to be driven by men wearing hats! If you have large feet - you may find the pedals a bit close together - but you know what they say about big feet - you have to buy big shoes!! (Mine are 14s!) As others have said - stick with a two door.

Thanks for all the comments. I'll be sure to take a look at the two door thats in the image above. Is there any particular parts i should look at on these cars? Things that might be expensive to change if broken..

Nothing that cant be fixed but look out for the dreaded tin worm. Almost all of the cars you view will have rust to some extent even if they have been allegedly restored. Try to take someone with you who knows a bit about Minors - maybe your local MMOC branch would help - as their are a lot of hidden bodges for the unwary.

I have looked for people whith some Morris knowledge, but no luck. There doesnt seem to be a MMOC branch in Norway. However with all the help i am getting at this forum, i should be able to spot possible problems by myself. Besides i wont be buying or looking at this car until about 5-6 months anyway. So i have a lot of time to learn

Well, I'm 6'6" with size 15 feet and I love my traveller. Find more room than a lot of modern cars for sure.

The only thing i did was take the parcel shelf out to make it look a bit bigger in the front, avoiding my shins. Also I wear a pair of converse for driving, just so i can feel the pedals... nothing worse than pushing the accelerator and brakes at the same time!

i'm 6'2 and wouldn't be comfortable if i was any taller! i drove to gloucester last weekend and was stuck on the m25 for 2 hrs, lots of gear changes and sports seats = numb legs

i,ve had new cars for the last 8+ years including merc's, pugs, fiats, and audi's. This mog is my favorite (gvt close second!) i've had an interest in classic cars since i was 15 and found a realy nice modified mog, all the same standard mogs are fun to drive, its like a big mini, so is good around town but obviously slow on motorways. Dont forget mogs need much more attention than modern cars, weekly, 1, 3,6, 12, monthly checks! get a grease gun! My advice would be buy with your head not your heart, its hard when you see something you really like! start with looking for a reason not to buy it, all the threads here will say the same check for tin worm underneath. look around, there are quite a few on ebay, piston heads. i found a local morris specialist to check everything for me, was peace of mind.
