Sure they weren't ***** - in that field ?? So - it's a 'fit for purpose' rotor arm - rather than 'uprated'! I'm sure the unit is excellent - I just object to fantastic claims made for these units (and seemingly for rotor arms!) ! All it does is replace the points - it doesn't make the spark any better at all. If the points and condenser were good in the first place - there won't be any advantage.

Ive now done a few miles with the Kit,starting from cold was quicker,it only took a couple of turns over before,this time it started on what seemed like a quarter turn of the key!
Acceleration is improved,time will tell on wether it uses less fuel.

I myself wouldnt agree with the claims made for them in their advertising bumpf,but i will say myself that they are better than points.after all,name a car in production today that uses points?
I would have thought that the spark would be better as power doesnt have to go through a set of mechanical contacts and a condensor unit,but thats just my view on it.

If anyone else feels brave enough to try it,i would reccomend it.
The rotor arm i was given in a service kit was an old stock one in a Shell packet of all things,and was cracked and had a rusty spring plate in it out the packet.
The service kit i just bought they didnt even put a rotor arm in it!

The car starts straight away even on the coldest days. Except when I forget to turn the key first before pulling the starter, which has been known.

right,ive now done around 200 miles with the kit fitted,and from my calculations my fuel economy is now around the 42-43mpg mark,based on the method of brimming the tank untill the nozzle clicks,doing 100 miles,then refilling.This is without a doubt the best mpg ive had on a minor,my previous ones only doing around 32-35mpg.i have a long distance run of 140 miles to do later this week,that will be the real test

Have you found it has improved your starting in the morning?
43mpg is not to bad at all. My points mog wil do about that and maybe 48 on a motorway run.

i have elcetronic ignition on my car around town it does around 30 to 35 on a run driving at a steady 60 i get 45mph.i get my rotor arms from mini spares and i use a rivitless blue one.i have a 45d distributer .
