Creamy goo in rocker cover=?
Hi team, I've been getting this creamy coloured goo in the rocker cover area, Whats that all about? Does that mean i'm getting water or exhaust gas in my oil or something? Do i need to go see a doctor about the problem?

If its running OK chances are that its just caused by condensation whilst we are having all this cold weather. esp, if only doing short runs.....

Re: Creamy goo in rocker cover=?
It's caused by inadequate crankcase breathing - exacerbated by low temperature running - and short run use. Best to remove the cover and clean it all out (check valve gaps while in there!) - check breather pipe is clear - and connection to carb (or filter casing) - and consider fitting a higher temperature thermostat (88 for winter). Also worth blocking off part of the grille - and taking it out for a good hard run now and again!

the mogatron's been running fine but i have been keeping the heating on full. could this be affecting it? i'm doing runs of about 30 mins to and from work. i cleaned it all out already. Is there away to improve on crankcase breathing?

Re: Creamy goo in rocker cover=?
The later HS2 carb with the breather connection on the side is FAR better than the pipe-into-air filter on the earlier engines. Otherwise - 88 stat and blank off the grille! And having the heating ON is fine.
