Seats

Post by Alex'n'Ane »

I know that the rear seat on the traveller is different from a saloon, but is the rear seat also different on a 4 door compared to a 2 door? And are the front seats different on either of the 3 models? (series 5 cars)

The base of the rear seat is shorter on a 4-door so that there is more room to get in the door, I think the back rest is the same though.
The front seats were different on vans and pickups but I think they were all the same between the cars.

The earlier the seat, the better the design.
A well padded Series MM seat is fairly comfortable, if a little short in the backrest. Both seats tip and tilt to allow easy access to the back seats. The designs gradually went down hill doing away with the tilting backrest and just having a tipping seat with less room to reach the back seats and a slab of a backrest. In my opinion the later seats should be binned and replaced with nice comfy modern seats.
