Wiper Problems

Hi, sorry if this is a bit basic but I am a newby who has reccently bought a Minor 1000 with a few jobs that need doing! I have managed to replace almost the entire engine bay contents, but am a bit stuck on the wipers!

1. How do I get access to the wiper motor? (sorry if this is a really stupid question)

2. The wipers stopped working mid-use in the fully extended position and will not move. When I move the switch there is no sound from the motor so I guessed it was most likely an electrical fault. Does anyone have any experience of this and the likely cause(s)?

If it's a Minor 1000 the motor (and gearbox) are sitting right there, under the bonnet - above the passenger front wing! Take the arms off - will the motor run without them ? Probably needs new brushes - and the drive cable greasing!

Thanks for that, I will have a look in the daylight tomorrow then probably kick myself for being such a blind idiot! Will let you know how it goes....
