Just wondering if anyone has fitted one of these? on my engine it's been modifed to point upwards, which works great. but ive just bought another engine that i am going to play with(strip and enjoy) and was wondering if this filter mount would work in a minor?

Yes that should work. We also used to use Regata / Strada ones which pointed in rearwards.

With you upward pointing one does it use an inverter block, ie a spacer block about 25mm thick? If so it is a good idea to radius the corners in the oil way to reduce the pressure drop.

If you can't get that, another option is to get a sandwich plate to fit to the oil filter thread and mount the oil filter remotely. The Fiat thread for the oil filter is the same as Ford Pintos (perhaps all Ford). Remote oil filter bits Eg Mocal stuff is a bit pricy but sometimes appears on Ebay.
