clutch cable???

Post by cadetchris »

seen this on flebay,
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MORRIS-MINOR-1000 ... 2a03ffc098
and it says snapped clutch cable?

from re-collection and having my nose pressed against the whole contraption for most of a day, i cannot remember a cable being preset. lots of levers and a spring.

Hmm... Think he might be trying to palm a bigger problem off. Shouldn't be "stuck in gear", and having a cable operated clutch is err.... novel! If that was the problem, anyone in their right mind would fix it before selling the car!

A well known and oft commented about "specialist" in the South West did fit a cable linkage for a while, usually with a 5-speed conversion, but no reason why it couldn't have been done with a standard box,

Reason for sale: working abroad.

Just because he uses the word cable instead of linkage doesn't mean much.
Could be an easy fix for someone.
I'd be more concerned about what the fresh coat of under seal might be covering.

Does say stuck in gear - so have to factor in a gearbox change - and of course hassles in moving the car to a new home. Price will of course depend on overall condition!
