Numbers well down ?
Seems to me the number of 'posters' on the Forum is seriously down since the so called 'upgrade' took place? Are they lost in space - or just left behind ?? Or unable to log in because of a fault in the board ??

I think because it's 'alien' it will take a while to get your head round it!

Re: Numbers well down ?
Or just the time of year - the Nova board always goes quiet for a bit round Christmas/early January.

Personally i really don't like the new format, but then you can't please everyone and i know a lot of hard work has gone into making this happen, so i will (with the exception of this comment!) put up with it, but it has taken away my enjoyment of the site i'm afraid!

Re: Numbers well down ?
Format still changeable if you have any suggestions.
And I haven't seen any reduction in the number of members on the site

I like the new functionality that the change has brung: not having to log in every time is a real boon! The only real change I'd make is choosing a different theme, there are some much better icon/balloons out there!

Im sorry to say I dont either - it really does leave me with a "headache" after about 10 minutes, I'll still visit, and occasionally post, but wont be able to spend time "browsing" (for 30 - 40 minutes) as I did before.rv8 wrote:

Is it not possible go back to the old typeface and backgrounds spread across the whole of the page but keep the changed (and probably improved - but Im no techie) functionality?.
Thanks again for the obvious work thats gone into this, I really dont mean to be negative, but I really enjoyed time spent on the site before and this is now restricted.
Cheers, Mike.

The backgrounds, colors and fonts are being looked at and will change. I can't do it all immediately. I do have a job to do as well.
And yes it was 'broke'. Totally unmaintainable. It had 3 different sets of programs, none of which worked well together, which caused no end of difficulties.

Re: Numbers well down ?
We used to have this colour scheme a while ago and people complained when we changed away from it, now we're back in the blues... As for the rest of the new site and better features - keep up the good work John

I did notice that we're full screen ahead today

Re: Numbers well down ?
I think its excellent
Much better functionality, aesthetically better and general a more user friendly experience.
For those that find the new colour scheme hard to look at, perhaps the contrast between text and background could be made less distinct. The grey on grey of the old site was easy on the eyes... perhaps just darkening the background a bit would help.
I say, good job

Re: Numbers well down ?
oh, and the wide screen is definitely much much better than the first incarnation of the new board with the thinner display

Re: Numbers well down ?
Wide screen much better.
Still trying to get my head round stuff and finding things I used to do.
Not a fan of change but was aware that old site caused jon real hassle. And as previously said obvious that serious work has gone into this change.
Will give it all a go
Probably not notice it after a while.

Re: Numbers well down ?
I've been using it less the last few days.. but I just need to get used to it. The folders>subfolders bit keeps catching me out and the signatures on the right feels odd, but it's just like a new pair of shoes - it'll become familiar in a few weeks.
