Moriespares

Post by alanworland »

I used to use a Morris spares outlet in North Weald, Essex (spelt as above) I seem to remember he advertised in the Magazine I believe the guys name was Bob, always ever so helpful - then one day I went there, and he was gone! sometime early 2000 I think.
Did anyone else use this supplier? or is/was Bob still around and possibly a user of this site or a Club member?

I used to get spares from them as they were the nearest Minor spares supplier to where I live. Shame that they closed down but I think it was because they just weren't getting the business - the Morris Traveller Centre in Leyton closed down at around the same time. I last saw Bob and business partner Alan Essex? selling some spares from a stall at an Essex branch rally (or possibly Herts branch?) quite a few years ago, after the business had closed. They both used to be members of the East London branch, which is also long gone, but I don't know where they are now or if they are still club members.

Shame, as it was my 'local' as well. I remember Bob ringing me up at home asking if I had left my glasses in his shop - nice guy
Perhaps he might read this!

Lou is right he came to one of our branch rally's with a large stock of parts at rather good prices and after a few had got some items from him Roger Burrows from the North London & Middlesex Branch bought all his stock from him.
Cheers

He moved from North Weald and traded briefly from a unit nearer to Harlow. I miss him as well as he was so helpfull and it was very rare for him not to have a part in stock. Many is the occasion the he helped keep my van on the road. Let's start a come back Bob campaign. :P
