As are many USA Cities - far wider and faster 'racetracks' than in the UK!

The American cities I've been to were far slower than the UK (e.g. Cardiff, Birmingham etc..), but yes, the roads were wider so less people competing for the same space.

London isn't quick but it's very cut-throat. Why is it usually BMW's that undertake in bus lanes etc..?

Well - I can assure you that Houston/Dallas/New Orleans and San Francisco ARE very fast indeed!

I only walked around New Orleans (and in the daytime).
Frisco was all traffic lights, and queues, although maybe that's because the trams were offline when I visited.

Philadelphia, Atlantic city, Mineapolis, Detroit, NY etc.. seemed fine to me.
