I found this picture today and it was taken just before I pulled the car out of the forest where it was hiding for about 10yrs.
The paint to me still looks like it has faded and still looks Mist Green to me but the proof will be the VIN research. I just want to make sure I put the right color back on it when it's repainted.

This is also Thames blue. We got sample pots from the ICI factory records office near Birmingham which they mixed to the original spec. The cost per litre is about 3 times the cost of shop-bought paint but the colour match against an unsoiled section of paint round the glovebox was amazing. It could've been touched in with a small brush without it being seen. The picture of the lowlight above isn't too much like the Thames blue we've got, being rather pale and turquoise compared to the colour of ours. I'm not saying it is wrong, only that the picture comes out a different colour on my computer screen.

Any idea why it is different to the Thames Blue from ICI? Are there different versios in the same way as Ye Olde English White (WT3 and some other version)

Are you saying that besides Mist Green, the Thames Blue is also a rare color?
Kind regards,
Steve

Re: "51" MM Progress
Steve,
Sorry for the delay in replying. I am working in my garage whenever I can to get my current project finished.
To answer your post, both the colours are quite rare along with Gascoyne Grey (in the UK). See duration dates below -
Thames Blue - Sept 1950 to May 1952
Mist Green - Sept 1950 to June 1952
Gascoyne Grey - Sept 1950 to Jul 1952
So of these three colours Thames Blue was used over the shortest length of time.
PS I have no idea why the colour is so named. I have never seen the Thames any other colour than murky brown!
