Series MM Seminar 2010

Post by mike.perry »

We are proposing to host a one day indoor seminar for all Series MM owners to discuss specific topics such as spares, maintenance or any related subject.
The meeting could be held on a Saturday or Sunday in late March, early April in the Oxford area. It is anticipated that expenses will be nominal, to include the cost of lunch and refreshments. The meeting will be open to all Series MM owners, although attendance in an MM would not be essential.
Planning is in the early stages but more information will be available by the time this notice is published.
The viability of the seminar depends on the response to this notice, so would anyone interested in attending, if they have any questions or would like to contribute on any topic, please contact me as soon as possible so that a cohesive programme can be put together. If any traders would like to like to attend please contact me also.
Should there be sufficient interest, further details will be published on the Series MM website when they become available and the date and venue will be published in the next edition of Minor Matters.

Yes Mike, I am very interested in attending. :D

I will need a firm date to enter it in the events calendar on the MMOC website though.

A Saturday would be better for me as the rally season kicks off around then and I think Weston Park is around that time.

Michael,
First I must wish to you and to all fellows from this site a Happy New Year.
Secound, if the seminar will be around an airport area may be I can fly to meet all of you, but for that I must know first the day and your expenses for the seminar to see what I can do...
All the best for you all
cheers

Hi Carlos,
The venue will be near Oxford, about 80km from Heathrow airport but it depends on which airline you fly as to which airport you arrive at, there are several around London. However I am sure something can be arranged.
Expenses will be mainly for food and refreshments, we are hoping that the new owners of the hotel will not charge for the room, the last owners did not. We will fix a date as soon as we have enough people to make the event worthwhile.

Mike would series II owners with lots of MM cross over parts be welcome? I'm quite happy to sit at the back with amber beacon on my head. Just about all my car is in original condition... just with A series running gear. I wish to keep it as original as possible.

Cheers

There are five Series MM's in the branch. Hopefully I will have OJO there too.

I like the idea of coming, though it won't be in the MM. It's a fair old run down from Lancashire - M6/Birmingham/M40 etc - so I'd be looking at factors like the weather at the time and an overnight stop. It'd be good to meet some of the other MM owners, though, and discuss things like spares and the like.

How about holding it inNiagara Falls ,Canada then i could attend. Great idea , we need a way of sourcing hard to find parts or possibly getting them made. I have been searching for two years to find windscreen chrome inserts.

Good idea, I'm sure it would be popular with your North American friends. Maybe we could rig a worldwide webcam set up one day!!!!!!!!!
Windscreen surrounds are certainly one of the items in demand as they are also used on the Series IIs. It is just finding someone, club or company who is prepared to finance the project and one of the subjects we will be looking in to.
