Boot leaking
Hi all. I think I have seen posts before re Boot seals and water leaking into the boot. I have a new seal fitted, the oblong rubber type that fits on the Boot lid. I can see an impression of the body lip on the seal so I assume that its making good contact when the boot is closed. However, after ony 1/2 hour of rain puddles of water appear on the lower boot floor. Cant see how and why, Any ideas, Thanks Rich
There are a number of other places that water can get in including the screw holes that fix the number plate and also the bumper bars that pass through the rear valance. Best way forward is to lock yourself in the boot with a torch whilst someone pours water over the car so you can see where it is coming in from...

Boot Leaking
Ah yes, maybe it could be the number plate fixings that are letting the water through. I will investigate further, thanks
It could be coming from your boot hinges screw also.
Mike, how can i check for water under the back seat? Which is the location i should look out for?
A good way to reduce rusting is also to place a dehumidifier like "Thirsty Hippo" to absorb moisture in the boot and glovebox area

Lift the back seat to see if there is any water underneath it and also look through the holes in the cross member as water can find its way in there and the only way to drain it is to drill small holes in the corners of the floor panel.Mike, how can i check for water under the back seat?
If it is only a small amount then I would expect it to evapourate with Singapore temperatures. The best solution is to avoid using the car in the rain or to cover it when not in use.
