headlight peaks

seen two minors today both had headlight peaks. any point to them or just for show?

They do or did serve a purpose.. but for the life of me can't remember it.

I can't even remember if I read it here or my dad told me...

Was there any point in me typing all that...

So far as I've been able to ascertain, they serve no purpose other than decoration and to put pedestrians and cyclists at unnecessary risk.

I find it difficult to understand why they are allowed at a time when so much work is going into making vehicles 'friendlier' to vulnerable road users.

Better off without them!

Didn't they reduce glare in fog?

Ban them and youll have to ban the chrome on the bonnet Originally designed for impaling jay walkers I am led to beleive

my better 3/4 loves them,rolled edge type so not so sharp,but not fitted yet,been in the boot for 4 weeks :-? can I be ars**d :-?

My Headlight peaks are chrome and have a rolled edge so not as sharp i must say that i did cut my hand on the steal ones though!
