Had a 2 door. Great little car. Used to drive from Warwickshire to Newcastle regularly (440 mile round trip) no bother on standard 1098 engine.
When my first daughter arrived, it became a little cramped. One little baby & a truck load of accessories! The traveller is more practical from this point of view. However, upkeep & repair is probably more if the wood is not looked after (though many travellers still around have original wood)
As a single man, I'd vote 2 door. Family = traveller

Im over 6ft 4 and drive a 4 door, no problems getting in or out as long as im not in the back!!! The 2 door and traveller doors are good for access, but i like being able to open the back and throw stuff in. 2 door is good for everyday, but so is a traveller as long as you keep an eye on the wood especially fit is to be stored outside
Give your series 2 a chance sure.

Thanks!- You've just reminded me where I left the VanTrue - but I know many people who "lodge" cars with parents/grandparents neighbours
