Introduction

Post by h20_mako »

Hi Everyone,

I am Jason 24 this year and i have been in this forum for ~6months. I felt that i am rude to not have a introduction of myself after so long.

So here goes.
I have a 1957 Morris Minor Tourer passed down from my granddad, to my dad and now me. It is registered in Singapore on 24th Jan 1958 and ironically i am born in 24th Jan 1985. So Minty is bears a special place in my heart forever.

I love the fact that it is easy to maintain and do minor repairs. I like to get my hands dirty but sadly over here there are not many competent mechanics here that can give me advice which is why i'm here to seek help and assistance where possible.

Generally here in Singapore, most of us send our cars to the mechanic for repairs and service as almost 80% of us live in HDB (Housing Development Board) flats due to lack of land and due to that we do not have a garage and tools to carry out work. Fortunately i do have a small place in my dad's warehouse which i can try to do some work myself :)

So bear with me if i am asking the obvious, as i am still learning as much as i can so that i can keep Minty running till the i past it on to the next generation

FYI: Do let me know if you need anything here in Singapore and rest assure i will try my best to accommodate and assist you.

Cheers

Hi Eveline, thanks. Paint is done professionally as we do not have the equipment.

This 2tone scheme is my dad's idea. The colours are mine when i was around 12 :)

Hi Jason, Minty looks cool, excuse the pun, I'm quite envious. Have a good weekend.

Not only 'cool' - but also air-conditioned ! Based on past threads.

G'day neighbour! Singapore is closer to me than most other Australian cities, so I guess you're right next door. Love the car.
