Well at this rate we're likely to hit half way in the entries by next week.
Just remember that details came out in the magazine a few days ago so there will soon be entries from non-message board ppl...
(ie get your skates on)
And as Riley has made it to Brighton and back 2 years in a row with a very tired engine, I don't expect Essex to Midlands will be too much for a limping Minor.
Although if you have the dreaded alternator conversion, bring an AA card!

A well maintained standard Minor is probably one of the most reliable cars around (>40 years old and still going strong). So whats the dreaded alternator conversion prob.?
Alternator conversions however seem to be a good way to get yourself towed home - there are hundreds if not thousands of people who converted from Dynamo to Alternator only to find it broke down. The typical failure is that the regulator fails putting upto 20 volts into your battery (above ~15.5 volts is too much). The battery then fails soon after and you are left stranded.
custommartin,
Many thanks - it arrived already. You must have good post!
Kevin,
it seems to have been a few days already - You didn't post it in Northamptonshire did you?

It said in our local paper last week that Brentwood is one of the worst postal areas in the country. Must have been a lucky stamp
Your not helping.....my new pick-up has an alternator
....where is that RAC card
Matt
How are you planning on driving two cars at once. Clever trick that.
May cause problems getting through the museum gates
Edd and Kevin
Have sent you a p.m.
Anybody else up for a convoy to Gaydon, let me know.
Cheers for now.
