This has been discussed on this site before. The owner posts on here and has given his response to criticism in the attached thread:

This really doesn't need to be aired again. I think we were all shocked when we saw it before but Pete has expalined that it was a total wreck and that he had advertised it for sale (I think even offered to give it away) without success. Parts were salvaged that were any good so this has now reached its natural conclusion. (Not a dig at you Matt - I just think it has been done to death already and let sleeping dog's lie etc)....

I was actially very impressed with the car. If you tried to do that with a eurobox, then the forks would have gone through the side very easily. Also when the car landed back on its wheels, after being on its roof, he got inside it. Eurobox would have probabley flattened the A pillars. My final comment on this is

WELL DONE MOGGIE FOR FIGHTING TO THE END.

Hi 8009Steve

I loved your last word "WELL DONE MOGGIE FOR FIGHTING TO THE END", this is too true.
Cheers

If all the "useful" part were taken off how did the car start and drive?

The rules over here make owning an old car very difficult. This one had no documentation and in order to be re-registered would have required the last registered owner, who was dead, to confirm that he had actually given the car to his grand daughter who then sold it to me for spares.
Once the paper work was sorted, the car would have had to undergo an inspection. Way stricter that the UK MOT. So basically unless you were prepared to invest heavily in this car it had no future and could not be sold/given away as a runner.

Just ask this guy, he has been advertising this UK reg car for the last 6 months as it wont pass the local test. He would take a low offer to get it shifted.

blue 1961 2 door saloon on UK plates for sale. 3rd owner from new. 948cc engine has done only 10,000 miles, 4 speed...
price: £500 ono
