Registration date
About to by my first moggie in 20 years, why was it first registered in 1984 when it was 'made' in 1958

Maybe the original registration plate was sold off and it was re registered. The documents would show the date of present registration. Has the plate got an S in the 2nd or 3rd character. If so this could indicate an age related plate with an un issued Scottish number which is the norm. Another possibility is that it was re imported.

Mine says 1979.. I think it's to do when the new V5 was issued after being off the road for sometime. I don't think it really affects anything, when I asked the question on here, there seemed quite a few in the same boat.
[edit] Mine is still on the original plates and it wasn't an import. I still have the original log book with the car.
