Can 948 SU carb fit into 1098? 948 diff with 1098 engine?
Can a 948 carb be fitted on a 1098? Will there be any issues? Originally is both the 948 and 1098 using the same carb?
If i were to fit a 1098 and ribbed gearbox, can the stock 948 diff still be used?
Cheers

Can a 948 carb be fitted on a 1098? - Yes
Will there be any issues? - Can't think of any

If i were to fit a 1098 and ribbed gearbox, can the stock 948 diff still be used? - Yes, although you may find it undergeared for motorways.

The only difference with the carb is the 948 uses an M needle and the 1098 uses an AN needle.
The 1098 van and pickup are fitted with 948 diffs so there is no problem, it just gives better acceleration and a bit higher revs at the top end. Still good for 75mph+. From my observations of Singapore (2 days) you would not be too bothered about high speed cruising on motorways.

only the diff will affect my speedo reading right? changing to a 1098 and ribbed gearbox will not affect the readings i currently have which is 1504 with 4.55 diff.
No worries andrew all here to learn
Mike 75mph+ is scary lol... my dad keeps telling me not to drive that fast and its the same logic as tell my granddad to run as fast as usian bolt..lolx... Mike when were you here in Singapore for the F1 race?

For just a 1098 engine swap into my 1957 948 Tourer. Can i use the 948 gearbox and diff?
What i still need to include to complete the swap is the 1098 clutch, 1098 flywheel and HS2 carburettor?
Please advice?

Just use ALL the 948 bits, including the backplate - on the 1098 block.
