And after words I sugest why not arrange a MOT or a International Rally here in Lisbon/Portugal, we have nice weather , sunshine ,nice food and so one...
So my question do you want visit us in Portugal off corse not on next year but why not in the Spring/summer 2011??? this date is because of logistic maters, maybe we can arrage the things for next year 2010?? who knows that dependent of our will (alltogether).

At least the weather should be guaranteed although rain seems to follow Minors where ever they congregate.
The Plymouth to Santander ferry would cut down on much of the mileage but is a bit eye wateringly pricey, best part of £600 with a basic cabin for 2 people.
Google maps suggest that London to Lisbon is 1,286 miles each way which is a few days driving.
The furthest South I've been in a Minor is Marseilles which is 771 miles from London.

As a former MOT organiser (1985-1991) I can assure you that Portugal was looked at in my time, but dismissed due to cost - as were Scandanavian destinations. The long ferry crossings were too expensive for many participants, especially if they wanted to take a trailer.
2010 is already fixed. Any ideas for 2011 or 2012 should be put to the current organisers - see Minor Matters or the MOT website http://www.minors-on-tour.org.uk/
It is of course open to anyone, or any Minor Club to organise a rally and invite Minorists from all over the world. But do give plenty of notice to get your 'join us' campaign into other Club's magazines to reach the maximum number of people as early as possible. To get to Portugal, working people will need to book holidays well in advance.
Bonne chance!
