500 & LouiseM

Post by Kevin »

Now I know LouiseM is a fan of the latest retro Fiat 500.
Like a few of us but she actually has one, does yours have a sunroof Lou as I wasn't aware of one that was brought out a few years ago in the Emerald Isle so I thought I had better show you what I was going on about
It would be really useful at some of the wetter rally's this year.

Maybe that's what we need to do with ours! Mind the bad photo taken through a window.

No sunroof though >: All the way from Serbia! Some may remember me mentioning one left and stuck out in Vienna.
Image
Certainly is a Zastava! Well spotted there. We find it easier to just tell people it's a Fiat 500. xD
It's not been registered here yet, so still has Serbian plates, tax and SRB sticker (also the original interior, in a lovely shade of 60-70's golden brown) - it's going into storage for the winter now, as dad doesn't want it to rot. Tis a nippy little thing: bringing it back from the port was fun - it doesn't go over speed bumps, it goes up them, goes across them, then goes down them. Tehee!
We'll probably register it when the winter goes away and after we've done a little tinkering.

Wasn't the zastava 750 based on the Fiat 600?

Yes it's the same thing but continued in production until 1985ish so a bit easier to get hold of than the Fiat

I am also a massive fan of the latest 500, although they appear to have brought out a version which costs £55k which may be taking things a little far...

Here's a picture of my two 'babies' side by side. I must admit I have a bit of a hankering for an original 500 but there's only room for one classic in the garage and it has to be a Minor :D
Image
Wot Loiuse reeelly needs is this!
Image
Saw it in Sorrento a couple of years ago; it seemed to have the Abarth quick bits. It was nice to see that the Italians treasure their treasures!
