You could try this:

http://www.frost.co.uk/item_Detail.asp? ... =Air%20Dry

I haven't tried it myself so cannot vouch for it but it may help.

I think you can probably buy Silica Gel for less than that! It does however have it's limits - and would need to be re-activated in an oven almost daily. Shame really - I used to bin 1/4 lb sachets of the stuff daily at work!

I use Nilglass on all my windows (available from Lakeland or online). Works a treat on all car/house glass/mirrors. Doesn't smear and seems to aid the demisting process! I have the upgraded mini heater and boy does it work! I have to turn it off after a few minutes - I'm fully demisted and my feet have begun to toast :D

No - Mini matrix can't fit a round heater!
Drums of explosive chemicals come with packs of silica gel!
To be any use - it needs to be roasted in an oven - daily!

We did roast many of the chemicals - in large vacuum ovens - but not the 'explosive' one - it managed to explode just fine a few times - at room temperature!

I've suggested this before but I don't think any one has tried it.

We often say everything works OK when you reverse the battery polarity, but this is not the case. The squirrel cage fan works much better when turning the right way. It works a bit when going backwards but not well.

Increasingly cars are changed to negative earth and I bet no one ever changes the polarity of the heater fan. If you poke around under the dash you will eventually find two wires that feed the fan, it does not earth to the bodywork. I think they are both black.

What I suggest is that you tape a bit of tissue so that it lies over the demister vent and see if it lifts more when you swap the wires over.

I have tried this with my MG which has similar components and it is dramatically better one way than the other.
