45d4 electronic kit will it fit a 25d4

Hi folks

Purchased an electronic ignition kit from the classic car show nec

I noticed it had 45d4 on it and when i asked will it fit my 25d4 lucas distributor he said yes.

Will it fit.

I own a 1974 MG Midget 1275 in Teal Blue "Midget" is what we call him and he is in very good to excellant condition "midget" is a Chrome bumper/Round Wheel arch model.

No -it won't fit. Completely different dizzy. What's in the 'kit' ?

a rotor arm attached to the magnet a hall effect sensor mounted to a plate that fits to the dizzy and some wires that go to the coil.

He assured me it would fit i wonder how many others he told this.

Just need to find a 45D that will fit your engine! It may fit the dizzy in the Midget.........

so the website is misleading and incorrect hmmm what can i do about it

Have you tried to fit it yet?
Hardly difficult, then you would have the definitive answer.
I doubt they just made up this compatibility, it would have come from the manufacturer.
