Hullo there,

I've just registered and thought I should introduce myself.
I'm a Scot living in Finland. Who has suddenly developed a hankering for a Morris Minor.
I've always had an old motorbike in my life but, with 2 kids now, last summer saw me doing barely enough miles to get the oil black. I figured an old car would at least enable me to involve them in my passion for old clonky, eccentric, "transport".
So here I am, someone naive, who thinks he wants a Morris Minor convertible, just like his neighbour had when he was young. Surprisingly my wife was quite enamoured with the idea. So I'm here to learn while I try and get the readies together. I probably wont be piping in with anything (because I don't know anything).

Umm no.
Part of the appeal is that they are really rare here. I know an Englishman further down south who imported one recently, and I have a couple of mates in Scotland who run them.
I'll be looking at buying one in GB probably..only thing is, I sound like a scammer don't I?

Looks like an A10 in your signature pic, I had one of them for 12 years till kids came along now grown up and i got a morris minor and haven't looked back (would still like to ride another beesa tho but only on sunny days ) welcome to the forum

Knew there'd be at least one on here.
Yup its a '56 road rocket motor in a '59 A7ss frame. I'm hanging onto mine in spite of the wee darlings. Owned it nearly 20 years.

Somehow a Minor Convertible did not seem to me to be the most suitable car for Finland. Maybe you folks up there appreciate fresh air motoring more than we do.

Mike: Summer is great. It just doesn't get dark...winters however, it doesn't get light. People make the most of their summers. A "summer car" is a popular concept.
I was seduced by the idea of open top motoring after being taken for a spin in a MG TF. It felt just like motorcycling without the hassle of helmets....and loads of room for tools!

Hi Iain dont worry about not knowing anything you will soon pick some useful poiters up, the hard bit will be finding a good convertible.
