Do I Need New Tyres?

Post by DuncanBeaumont »

My tyres have a number of cracks at the bottom of the tread. Is it safe to carry on using them?

What size do I need? Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced supplier?

I am in Surrey.

Try your local tyre place.
I got a set of 155/14s from mine - £120 for four fitted. :)

Fat chance of finding 145s though (the 'original' size).
What would Macgyver do..?

bigjohn is right forget the MOT the tyre can fail at any time in a catastrophic manor! Cracks indicate the rubber has perished and is therefore no longer safe.

I would change all four. bull motif have toyo's and they are excellent tyres with a modern tread pattern too.
