Looks very nice. but if I was to be a bit picky I would comment as follows.

Not a great deal of ex GPO evidence now though, although it does appear to have the rear door stays on the rear valance.

Im a bit dubious of the Austin bit too, Im fairly sure that the Austin variant was never used for GPO vehicles. But I may well be wrong.

A Morris GPO chassis number would start MAE or G, and a civilian austin van would start AAVC. Id check the chassis number.

Im fairly sure its got a late bonnet too, its missing the flash above the morris badge. Im fairly sure only the very last of the line of LCV's had this flash removed around 1971/2.

But having said that it looks very nice and clean everywhere, if your not too fussed about the ex-GPO part it'll be a great buy.

I'd request some more pictures especially of the underside and engine bay.

The slight surface rust on the gutters will be coming from the inside :(
There are some rather dodgey looking repairs on the drivers side of the van body, the wheel arch and the rear corner.

My dad lives in Whitsable, I might be able to get him to have a look and take some pictures.

Wow.
Guy must be mad to have not put a decent reserve on it.

Current bid £1600 - thats a steal!

Maybe its dodgy - maybe the guy just needs the cash.
I'd go with the latter as theres a woman involved!
What would Macgyver do..?

the top bonnet flash or lack of it is quite all right

gpo vans had metal door cards

as far a s i know they were all morris`s for the gpo

maybe its not an ex gpo van

there is no evidence of any fixings in the metal sides for internal gpo bins either

the rear door stays could have been put on by anyone

also the spare wheel holder is not gpo

I don't see any evidence of it being ex GPO either - Maybe ask the seller a question as to why he thinks that it is? Judging by the amount of work that needs doing and considering the work that has been done I would pitch it at around £2000 - £2500 in value. With the body sorted then easily a £5000 vehicle....
