Other good places:

1. Onto the exhaust manifold. Keep your hand on the horn button and listen to the way the pitch changes as the engine warms up.

2. One horn on each of the kingpins, and two in place of the rear axle bump stops, to act as reminders if you've lowered the suspension too far.

3. Cable tied to the prop shaft. If the cables are long enough, you might get an interesting Doppler effect (briefly).

4. Any other place where the sun doesn't shine.

These 'Dixie' horns are extremely 'naff' - in my opinion. This is the sort of thing that could get Minor owners a 'bad' name. I was lighting up last sunday at 6:15 am - there was a group of Mobile Campers overnighting in our carpark, just alongside the engine - so I was doing my best to keep noise down - with the fire-irons etc. When - amazingly - one idiot starts up his camper - and drives round the site blowing his 'Dixie' horns (it's now about 6:45) and then heads out to the open road - horn still blowing periodically as he receeds.
I ask you - do you really want to be associated with that ??

Take no notice, BMC is really talking about unacceptable behaviour really, not Dixie horns.
It would have been just as bad if the miscreant had played the world cup theme using his standard horn.

Maybe you should stick them all under the back bumper in line with the exhaust...
..or of course just get yourself a nice 'period' klaxon, much nicer.
A member of the rugby branch has a klaxon from a 1920s Rolls in his minor! sounds great!

I agree! It could have been any horn - just happened to be v e r y s l o w Dixie horn in this case. My point is - this is the type of person / uncaring attitude to others' comfort/convenience - that's has multi-tone horns !

Looked pretty much like a 'Grandad' prat who was driving the ghastly motor caravan! Anyway - nuff said - as you all agree it's everyone to their own.

I wonder if you can get little trumpet mutes to fit in bellmouths? Then josh could play them all the time! Personallly, I love to have something to wake up dosy drivers who pull out in friont of me. I rather envy young josh!
Josh, play them loud when you drive thro' Stonehouse - just for me! MikeN.
Morris Minor, the car of the future. One day they will all look like this!

I'll blow my whistle at you!
I do want a set of air horns - just not Dixie.
Now - if it was Colonel Bogie.........
No actually - I just want decent air horns, no tune - for my TR7. The horn it has is so pathetic - a bicycle bell would be better!

I have fitted in my every day work vehicle a nice loud klaxon which was fitted for the sole purpose of annoying drivers on mobile phones - I love it!
