After an off chance search on ebay I have found my wifes old Mini 35 has come up for sale. She bought this car brand new in 1994 and sold it reluctantly two years later to help pay for work on our new house. Well she's 40 January and after seeing it thought about buying it back for her.
Anyway, it seems top price to me , so can anyone advise on what it could be really worth if in decent nick? I've posted this on a mini forum, but no one has responded.
Thanks
Dean...

Says your wife was 84 when she sold it ??????
Are you sure that is her car ? Or is it just another mini 35 - like the one you used to have ?
It does look good in these pics - some tell-tale rust peeking out at the sills - and beginning at the nearside A post. these Mini 35s do tend to sell well if in good order. There are no underneath shots - or inside the boot - or under the carpets - or under the wheelarches. All places you need to look. Go and see the car by all means - but i suspect that price will be quite realistic - maybe get it for £3000 - but i doubt much less.
Out of interest - which Mini forum ??

Yes.... I've questioned the seller about that , he was told an old lady bought it from Miniman in 1997. Well my wife sold it to Miniman in about 1997. So it starts to fall into place.

There's one on car & classic at the moment for £2,500 but the mot has expired and it doesn't have minilite wheels so I'd agree with BMC and say £3k is about right. Don't mention to the seller the 'sentimental value' aspect or they might not budge much on the price.
Your advice has been very valuable thank you, at least I know that I wouldn't be robbed at that price. I have mentioned it to my wife, the smile I got was quite a picture..
Think I need to arrange a viewing...

Do these things just appear to fall into place sometimes.... I've even found a private garage up for rent, local to my house, at a good price on the web....

Sadly the owners circumstances have changed for the next six months so she's pulling the listing..
She did say though she'll give me first refusal if she decides to sell it again. The sale was linked to her losing her job so... glad she's kept her job a bit longer but sad I can't buy the car....

Circumstances changed again... but for the better for me. Viewed today and bought it, less than advertised.... The mini is now in the mother in laws garage awaiting my wifes 40th birthday. Bought back some great memories driving it the 120 miles from Devizes!
