Pressurised Dampers?

Post by alanworland »

All the recent posts on dampers prompted me to check the level in the fronts while I had me head under the bonnet!
All clean around the filler bolt I unscrewed the plug to find it contained pressure which was released with quite a 'pop' and a quantity of oil?
The nearside was pressurised but nothing like the offside.
Whats all that about? Anyone elses done that? (oil levels ok)

Aye - there should be a little air space under the filler plug.
