Can anyone tell me the chasis number of the first of the MM 1000- 948 in Autumn '56?
The coding seems to be retaining the previous series 2 system I am keen to know how early a car with No. FAB11457071 might be. Any help appreciated

The mid 50's were the hay-days for the Minor so figures like those should be expected. I'm not surprised by them, the 'new car that everyone's been waiting for' would sell, I've got a feeling the advertising of the time played on the nice new bits, 'and now Big Car performance', so may have invoked a few sales.
