Hello,
Am just in the process of cleaning up engine (1098) bits and bobs for painting and noticed there are hints of green paint left on the manifold. Was the manifold originally done in the same green as the rest of the engine or has this been done later?

So the inlet manifold originally green, was the exhaust manifold painted or left bare metal? thanks

the exhaust manifold was originall painted silver avaliable from halfords heat resistant aluminium paint

Oh, so though the two manifolds are one piece the two "halves" were painted different colours?
I had assumed the whole thing would be green...?

Yes - but that's not original - they were just rusty cast iron! Some one was looking for a pic of carb on manifold - there it is!

Looks like the way to go Josh. Bmc's right, the green wouldn't last. How long since you did the silver?

2 weeks ago i used it on my old manifold before i put a 1098 manifold and carb and it lasts well doesnt flake or anything
