embarrassment
Hi all
My 11 year old daughter says she will disown me when i get my long awaited moggie tomorrow,i told her it will be a while before i could drop her off at school in it,She said it will be to embarrising for her.I told her she should be proud to ride around in such a classic car and i'm sure her freinds will be very envious of her espeicially when we pull up next to all the 4x4's they all seem to have, but she is having none of it.Her 2 younger sisters are both very excited about it.

To be honest she would disown you if you bought the 'wrong' 5 year old car so ignore her and use it as a threat to keep her in line.
I.e do your homework or I will pick you up from school in it and I will make sure the exhaust farts as we pass your friends
A bit of tinkering and you could even backfire as you pass them.

On my recent road trip the most enjoyable thing was people coming up to me in the street and wanting to talk about the car. Many had memories of owning one themselves or their father/grandfather having one. I even had a couple ask me to photograph them in front of the car
Never happens to me in my Mitsubishi Lancer......

Amazing the difference driving a Moggie compared with the Nova (flat black object in my sig picture): With the Mogs it's 'My Dad/Aunt/Grandad had one of those' 'Isn't the woodwork lovely' 'Oooooh!' and best of all (happened again the day before yesterday) 'You know, I think I've got a load of spares for Morris 1000s tucked away at the back of the garage that I don't want.'
The Nova gets: 'What is it?' 'How fast does it go?' and most common and most annoying: 'Why don't you paint it red?'

I guess in either case, if you don't like attracting peoples attention, you might as well have a Eurobox (4 wheel drive or otherwise) and bask in the annonimity that comes fitted as standard.........

My 14yr old son is definitely in the "don't bring that thing near the school" camp - but my 18yr old daughter thinks the truck is cool. So you just have to bide your time.

My sister wouldnt go near mine! then she grew up (took 4 years, i havnt even started yet haha) and now she likes it.
Its an image thing, the chavvy tin can exhausts, rims etc and the morry is the opposite and until people grow up a bit they wont see the cool side of the morry.
Im selling my peugeot and going back to the morry which im really looking forwards to.

Re: embarrassment
Apparently the only defence parents have against teenagers is their embarrassment. I'd suggest a colonel bogey airhorn as the icing on the cakeborderblue wrote:Hi all
